Pressing Matters
Decentralising Publishing: In Conversation with Indie Presses Going Against the Grain.
Tune in as we spotlight small presses outside of London, chatting to indie publishers to learn more about their experiences, and the exciting work they are doing. We will be exploring how operating outside of centralised publishing hubs affects these small presses, and questioning how these barriers might be overcome. Through conversations with a range of innovative, trailblazing publishers, we seek to open up a dialogue around amplifying voices often overlooked in mainstream publishing, and challenge the London-centric focus of the industry.
Join us as we take on The London Book Fair, one of the biggest trade events in the publishing calendar. We will be chatting to publishers from the UK over, from literary fiction in Oxford, to poetry in Edinburgh, and from sci-fi in Dublin, to children’s titles in Truro, learning about exciting new projects, and discussing obstacles these presses may have faced in operating outside of the centre.
